Biography

Dr. Ernst is working at PolyTech A/S on condition monitoring of blades. Prior to that role, he has been working as a scientist at TNO in the Netherlands and at VESTAS for 6 years. At VESTAS, he led the development of a novel blade root connection and R&D of non-destructive testing (UT, RT, AE) of blades for quality assurance. He received his PhD on wave propagation from ETH Zurich in 2015, working on various structural health monitoring problems ranging from the Swiss F/A-18 fleet to acoustic emissions for avalanche research.
