Division Director, Fraunhofer IWES
Biography
Dr. Bernhard Lange is director of the division Wind Farm Development at the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology IWES. He studied physics at the Universities Konstanz, Edinburgh and Oldenburg. After graduating with a master thesis on wind farm modelling he worked in Denmark with Risø National Laboratory and Wind World A/S. 1998 to 2002 he carried out his PhD about offshore wind power meteorology at Risø National Laboratory and University of Oldenburg. Since 2005 he is working at Fraunhofer IWES and is responsible for a large number of national and international research projects as well as for research and development carried out for industry partners. Since 2007 he is also responsible for the coordination of the RAVE (Research at alpha ventus) research initiative. His main research interests for the last 20 years are wind conditions, resource assessment, grid integration and wind power forecasting.Presentations
