Session description
IRENA and the IEA have set big goals for offshore wind to help mitigate global warming. The status quo will not get us where we need to go. Disruption is needed. At COP26 the Danish Government, IRENA and GWEC convened a preliminary meeting of nations interested in offshore wind. The Global Offshore Wind Alliance (GOWA) has been formed to specifically ramp up the uptake of offshore wind around the globe. GWEC is also working on a technical assistance program to assist nations in accelerating through the new market challenges. Here more on both programs.
