Session description
Europe has demonstrated technical feasibility and excellent performance of floating wind turbines for the past decade delivering capacity factors of 57%. It is now time for the technology to move to commercial scale. But today only France, UK and Norway are showing progress and commitment. And Europe would need to build at least 7 GW by 2030 to bring down the cost to €53-76/MWh. The session will focus on the latest market developments in Europe and how governments can support the industry to deliver this cost reduction.
