Session description

Wind O&M represents today more than one third of overall LCOE cost. Over next years the digitalisation of wind O&M is expected to play a key role in maximising wind farms’ performance and cost reduction. Since few years now many wind O&M processes have been optimised with the deployment of innovative digital tools. Still the wind sector lacks common definitions, standards and metrics to describe the main digitalisation use cases and to assess their benefits.

Which are the main wind O&M areas that are under transformation thanks to the ongoing digitalisation and which are the leading technologies?

How can we assess the benefits in the short and in the long term? Have we already got concrete cases and enough data to assess this?

Which are the barriers today in the widespread use of these solutions? Are there technical or policy barriers or is it just a matter of mindset shift ?
