Biography

Yu-Foong is the Country Manager - Offshore Wind in Taiwan for RWE, which is one of the world’s largest renewable energy companies and the second largest developer of offshore wind globally. He moved to Taiwan in early 2018, where he set up RWE's operations, establishing the team and portfolio of offshore wind projects. Yu-Foong’s background is in engineering, finance and economics, and renewable energy policy. He joined RWE in 2015, and prior to that was working as a consultant in the energy sector with a focus on renewables, advising governments, regulators, utility companies and investors on strategy, policy and regulation in the electricity and renewables sector. During this time, Yu-Foong has supported the financing, refinancing, IPOs and M&A of power projects globally, delivering investment due diligence totalling over USD 10 billion. His educational background is a technical one, with a degree in Engineering Science from Oxford University, and a postgraduate in Engineering for Sustainable Development from Cambridge University.
