Chief Engineer - Energy, National Composites Centre

Biography

Pete is the Chief Engineer for Energy at the National Composites Centre where he defines technical strategy for the use of composite and non-metallics in enabling Net-Zero energy generation and distribution. His team works closely with some of the world’s largest companies to develop impactful applications of composites in offshore wind, Hydrogen, oil & gas and advanced nuclear systems. Prior to this role he led a major facility expansion programme to deliver the world leading R&D facilities at the NCC and previously led research groups in automated composites manufacturing and process simulation. His earlier academic and industrial research underpins innovative products in aerospace, motorsport, energy and consumer goods and was built on his PhD in multifunctional composites from the University of Bath.
