Biography
Kai Freudenreich is a Mechanical Engineer (Dipl.-Ing. at Bochum University) and Ph.D. in Energy Technology (Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm) and has more than 20 years of experience in wind engineering and over 25 years of experience in turbine aeroelasticity. After working for a wind turbine manufacturer, he moved to the certification body DNV (formerly Germanischer Lloyd) in the position of Principle Specialist. Main focus is everything that has to do with loads, as load case definitions, aerodynamics, wind turbine concepts and external conditions. He is committee member for wind turbine standards as the IEC MT01, the German Wind Turbine Committee and has edited several DNV and GL standards, for loads and site conditions, extreme temperature and icing conditions and tropical cyclones.Presentations
