Biography

Dr. Joerg Winterfeldt has been working in the wind industry for over 20 years. He is currently a Senior Global Manager in charge of GE’s Wind Farm Energy Guarantees and an expert on risk assessment of wind farm energy yields, serving as a German delegate to the IEC 61400-15. He received a PhD in Meteorology, a Diploma in Marine Environmental Sciences and an M.Sc. in RE Engineering. Focus of work in the last years is on: meso-scale modeling, extreme value statistics, wind resource assessment, wind farm energy losses, uncertainties and guarantees.
