Biography

Richard Fruehmann is a mechanical engineer with a masters degree meteorological modelling and a PhD in experimental mechanics. He has been working with UL for the past 5 years in the wind energy industry, as a project engineer in research and development. He is responsible for management and fulfillment offshore research projects within UL Renewables, foremost the FINO1 long term measurement campaign and several scanning lidar campaigns. Previously, Richard has worked as a research fellow at the University of Southampton, developing non-contacting measurement techniques for stress and strain measurements, high speed infrared thermography and fatigue testing of composite materials.
