Biography
Dr. Thomas Neumann has studied physics at the University of Osnabrück and received his PhD in the field of semiconductor physics in 1994. He started his career in wind energy in the mid of the 90’s in a consultancy company for wind energy in Germany. Within his position at the FGW (technical association for wind energy) he entered the field of wind energy research in 1999/2000 and also took over responsibility for the German Technical Guidelines for Wind Energy. His expertise in wind energy technology reaches from feasibility studies that he carried out in the early 2000s , atmospheric and wind turbine measurements and modeling, the application of new sensor technology, the interaction of wind turbines with the boundary layer and the optimization of the operation through advanced wind farm control mechanisms.Presentations
