LEANWIND

Logistic Efficiencies and Naval Architecture for Wind Installations with Novel Developments

LEANWIND ambitiously aims at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the offshore wind farm lifecycle and supply chain. In particular, it wants to develop new technical solutions to reduce the costs of the offshore wind farm installation, O&M and decommissioning by applying the so-called LEAN principles of efficiency to the wind energy lifecycle and supply chain.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement no 614020

Toyota first developed these principles to reduce wasteful stages in the production chain and therefore improve the effectiveness of the company. With LEANWIND, they are applied to the wind energy sector for the first time.

Co-funded by the EC FP7 programme of the European Commission

Running time: December 2013 – November 2017

WINDEUROPE is a project partner
