WindEurope position on the Industrial Decarbonisation Accelerator Act
This paper presents WindEurope’s recommendations for the Industrial Decarbonisation Accelerator Act, the upcoming legislative package that aims to scale up clean technologies in Europe and contribute to the decarbonisation of European industry.
We recommend:
- The creation of lead markets for green products first for sectors with high material intensity, cost pass-through feasibility and consumer willingness to pay.
- The recognition of wind energy as a strategic enabler and a sensitive consumer: any green material use should only be phased in gradually with adequate financial support.
- Public and private procurement along with targeted tax incentives e.g. for renewables’ uptake should support the creation of lead markets.
- Clear, harmonised EU definitions, labels and certification.
