Joint Letter – Support for UK closure of industrial sandeel fishing in the North Sea
We were very concerned to learn that the Commission has decided to request an arbitration tribunal
on the UK closure of industrial sandeel fishing, under the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement
(TCA).
This undermines the UK and EU’s ability to deliver large-scale ecosystem recovery in the North Sea and risks slowing down offshore renewables deployment.
