Membership officer
WindEurope is the voice of the wind industry, actively promoting wind energy across Europe. We have over 600 members from across the whole value chain of wind energy: wind turbine manufacturers, component suppliers, power utilities and wind farm developers, financial institutions, research institutes and national wind energy associations.
We are looking for a Membership Officer to join our Membership team in a leading advocate organisation where you can make a meaningful impact in shaping the future of wind energy.
You will be responsible for business development, member retention and engagement activities. You will report to the Membership Manager.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to attract new members aligned with the association’s priorities.
- Manage and nurture relationships with existing members, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and engagement.
- Drive B2B matchmaking activities and facilitate networking opportunities at WindEurope events.
- Perform database updates, ensuring smooth processing of membership contracts, invoicing, and credit control activities and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in member data.
- Represent WindEurope at trade fairs, exhibitions, and other relevant events. Ready to travel abroad within Europe, occasionally working outside normal working hours by attending morning and evening receptions.
Mindset and skills qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), with the ability to manage sensitive or difficult situations with diplomacy and professionalism.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects autonomously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented, with a proactive and creative approach to problem-solving and project execution.
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Knowledge of wind energy and/or EU energy policy is a significant advantage.
Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in business administration, marketing, energy, or related fields. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
- At least 2 years of experience in a relevant role, demonstrating a track record of managing member relations and driving business development.
Software
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics or similar), with the ability to analyse data and create impactful presentations.
Languages
- Very good level of English (written and spoken).
- Knowledge of other EU languages is a plus.
