IT Officer

WindEurope is the voice of the wind industry, actively promoting wind energy across Europe. We have over 600 members from across the whole value chain of wind energy: wind turbine manufacturers, component suppliers, power utilities and wind farm developers, financial institutions, research institutes and national wind energy associations.

We are looking for an IT Officer to join our IT Team in a leading advocate organisation where you can make a meaningful impact in shaping the future of wind energy. 

You will be responsible for the maintenance/upgrades of IT infrastructure components (local and online resources), monitoring and enhancing cyber security systems put in place, configuration and maintenance of user accounts and endpoints, and for providing IT support to end users. 

You will report to the Head of IT.


Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Configuration and maintenance of IT infrastructure components (local network and online resources)
  • Monitoring of/reporting on cyber security systems put in place
  • Proposals for enhancements of the current cyber security measures (systems, configuration, procedures)
  • Ensure most appropriate and up-to-date security set up and configuration
  • Data backups’ configuration and maintenance
  • Endpoint configuration and maintenance (PCs, mobile devices, Windows and iOS)
  • Creation and maintenance of user accounts (hybrid local-Entra, Dynamics 365, Business Central)
  • IT support to end users
  • Updates of IT documentation (internal policies, procedures, NIS2-related documentation)

  • Good communicator with good presentation skills as a plus

Experience:

  • Circa 5 years of experience in a similar position 
  • Experience in configuring/maintaining IT equipment and infrastructure components (local and cloud)
  • Experience in maintenance of IT security systems (antivirus, EDR systems…)
  • Experience in setting up data backups and broader disaster recovery plans
  • Experience in helpdesk/user support

IT skills:

  • Very good knowledge in hardware (servers, switches, expansions, upgrades, patching) and networking
  • Machines virtualisation (VMware) 
  • Windows OS (servers and PCs), Linux, iOS
  • Very good knowledge of data backup tools (local and cloud)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure/Entra/Intune/SharePoint/Office 365
  • Good knowledge of DC-related tools and services (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPOs)
  • Familiarity with firewall configuration adaptations (modifications of existing policies)
  • Familiarity with MS Defender or other anti-virus system(s)
  • Familiarity with scripting, PowerShell and other administrator tools
  • Familiarity with TeamViewer or other remote support tools, and with ticketing systems

Languages: 

  • Very good level of English (written and spoken)
  • Any additional language is an asset.
