Advisor Energy Infrastructure

Start: as soon as possible

Duration: CDI undetermined contract 


WindEurope is the voice of the wind industry, actively promoting wind energy across Europe. We have over 600 members from across the whole value chain of wind energy: wind turbine manufacturers, component suppliers, power utilities and wind farm developers, financial institutions, research institutes and national wind energy associations.

We are looking for an Advisor in Energy Infrastructure to join our Energy System Integration team in a leading advocate organisation where you can help to shape the future of wind energy. You will be responsible for our advocacy on electricity grids and other energy infrastructure and on electricity markets. You will report to the Director of Energy System Integration within the Policy Division.


Main duties and responsibilities 

  • Drive advocacy on EU planning and investments for electricity grids and other energy infrastructure 
  • Support advocacy on EU electricity market design and its implementation 
  • Drive advocacy on national policies and practices on electricity grids and electricity markets in key national markets for the wind energy sector 
  • Coordinate WindEurope’s contribution to the Energy Storage Coalition 
  • Coordinate WindEurope’s advocacy on the EU-UK relationship on electricity grids and markets 
  • Provide thoughtful analysis and market intelligence on policy and market developments regarding energy networks and storage infrastructure

  • Self-driven to build argumentation and advocate effectively on topics under your remit 
  • Able and proactive to work within and across teams of multiple disciplines 
  • Highly motivated to learn new skills and proactive to deep dive into relevant regulatory topics 
  • Able and highly motivated to engage and positively influence people 
  • Able and highly motivated to create and maintain a solid network of stakeholders in EU and national authorities and relevant organizations 
  • Able to speak publicly and effectively represent WindEurope 
  • Stakeholder management and consensus-building skills

Experience 

  • Master’s degree in European policy, engineering, energy and/or relevant degree
  • Previous professional experience of 3 to 5 years in EU or government affairs and energy policy

Software

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization tools.

Languages

  • Very good level of English (written and spoken)
  • All other languages are a plus
