Sessions

Next-generation components for wind turbines

Turbine technology

When: Wednesday, 3 April 2019, 16:15 - 17:45
Where: Luxua 1

Session description

This session will deal with innovative wind turbine components. Authors from academia and industry will present concepts from bearings over gearboxes to superconducting generators. They will also present alternative materials and solutions to rare earths used in the permanent magnets of wind turbines. The session will shine light on new trends in the sector regarding system modularisation and the development of digital twins.
