Aitor Zurutuza, PhD
R&D Manager, Laulagun Bearings
BiographyAitor Zurutuza studied Industrial Engineering at Mondragon University and the PhD in Industrial Engineering at Tecnun, Navarra University. He worked 5 years as a researcher in the materials department of CEIT where he worked in material development and heat treatment optimization for steel components used in joints between different sections of large submarine pipelines for oil and gas transportation. Later, he worked as a researcher for two years in the mechanical department of Ikerlan. His main activities focused on the development of calculation methodologies and their validation for Laulagun Bearings and Orona. He is currently R&D manager in Laulagun Bearings S.L. Laulagun is dedicated to the manufacture and commercialization of bearings of large dimensions mainly for the wind sector. As R&D manager, his tasks are to define, manage and perform a technical and deadline monitoring of the main research lines.
