Dr. Markus Bauer

BiographyDr. Markus Bauer has been working with superconducting wires for more than 20 years. He is currently responsible for business development at the company THEVA Dünnschichttechnik in Germany, a leading supplier for high temperature superconducting (HTS) wires in Germany. He studied physics at the Technical University of Munich focusing on the development of HTS wires during his PHD. After several years at ThyssenKrupp Transrapid developing components of the German maglev train Transrapid he joined THEVA in 2010 where he focused on the development of the superconducting wires first before changing to business development. He was responsible for the development of the superconductors and coils for the EcoSwing Generator. Additionally, he is active in the national and international standardization committee for superconductors.
