Come meet the poster presenters to ask them questions and discuss their work

We would like to invite you to come and see the posters at our upcoming conference. The posters will showcase a diverse range of research topics and provide an opportunity for delegates to engage with the authors and learn more about their work. Whether you are a seasoned researcher or simply curious about the latest developments in your field, we believe that the posters will offer something of interest to everyone. So please, join us at the conference and take advantage of this opportunity to learn and engage with your peers in the academic community. We look forward to seeing you there!

PO262: Crew transfer vessels for the future

Hans Randklev, GM Commercial, Strategic Marine (S) Pte Ltd.

Abstract

Strategic Marine has developed, built and delivered a new class of 27m Crew Transfer Vessels (CTV), the StratCat 27. The design is based on the proven previous 26m class and offers besides significantly improved performance data, the possibility for full hybrid propulsion, maintaining full deadweight capacity while other hybrid designs require larger vessel sizes. Compared to standard 27m class CTV designs the StratCat 27 achievements are: * comparable displacement = comparable impact on the turbine * Hybrid design, retrofit of hybrid for non-hybrid propulsion possible at later stage * suitable for IMO Tier III installation * reduced hull resistance * 10% higher bollard push for improved access at higher seas * 30% larger accommodation space * full deadweight capacity with hybrid propulsion * 30% higher deadweight with conventional propulsion The presentation will give a comparison between the common and the new design and point the improvement for operators and charterers. It will also give an insight to the newly developed light-weight and cost efficient hybrid propulsion plant and present first real-life results.
