PO206: Development of an aerodynamic measurement system for wind turbines

Abstract
In this study an aerodynamic measurement system was developed that can be installed as a retrofit on virtually every turbine located in onshore sites. The aerodynamic measurement system consists of pressure sensors, which were are embedded in shells, which are mounted on the rotor blades. In this study the system was installed on a 8 MW offshore prototype located in Bremerhaven. It was installed at two sections at one rotor blade with 72 pressure sensors in total - 18 sensors each on the pressure side and suction side, respectively. Additionally, an aerodynamic probe with 5 sensors was installed at each of the two sections. Results were compared to CFD-simulations.
