Come meet the poster presenters to ask them questions and discuss their work

We would like to invite you to come and see the posters at our upcoming conference. The posters will showcase a diverse range of research topics and provide an opportunity for delegates to engage with the authors and learn more about their work. Whether you are a seasoned researcher or simply curious about the latest developments in your field, we believe that the posters will offer something of interest to everyone. So please, join us at the conference and take advantage of this opportunity to learn and engage with your peers in the academic community. We look forward to seeing you there!

PO062: Seabed geotechnical properties and environmental conditions for the development of offshore wind installations

Johan Nyberg, Senior Wind Power Consultant, Ramboll

Abstract

In marine spatial planning, knowledge on seabed properties is important when selecting technical safe and sustainable sites, as well as determine technical designs and solutions, for offshore windfarm installations. Therefore, seabed environmental and geotechnical parameters, from marine geological investigations, of importance in analyzing environmental conditions and planning designs are identified and presented. In addition, the suitability of different installation techniques for different areas are presented. To geo-spatially evaluate the different parameters in finding suitable locations, cable routes and foundation types, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) is used. The parameters identified and methodology presented here have the high value of being incorporated into multi-parameter evaluations for optimal site selection of different offshore windpark installations.
