Biography

Dave is the Head of Research at Wind Energy Ireland. As a member of WEI's leadership team, he is responsible for delivering evidence-based analysis and research across all aspects of on and offshore wind and other sustainable technologies. Dave leads engagement with universities and the academic sector and collaborations on skills, education, and multi-disciplinary research. He also manages Wind Energy Ireland’s policy advocacy in grid development and energy markets. Dave joined Wind Energy Ireland from EirGrid, where he was responsible for leading grid infrastructure projects through consenting, stakeholder engagement and construction. He also worked on the Single Electricity Market transition, power system operations, and future grids. Dave is a graduate of University College Cork, a previous board member of the Project Management Institute, and a Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland.
