Biography

Dr. Hwang has been working in the wind industry for almost 13 years. He is currently a senior researcher at Korea Institute of Energy Research. He studied mechanical vibration and acoustics, and obtained his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from KAIST in 2009. After his studies he conducted research on wind turbines, shipbuilding, and offshore facilities at Samsung Heavy Industries for 8 years. After that, he has moved to KIER and has been conducting various research on wind turbines. His areas of interests are structural dynamics, noise and vibration, digital twin technology, prognostics and health management.
