Biography
Gerald Kaendler is Director Asset Management at Amprion since 2009. Amprion is an independent privately owned Transmission System Operator in Germany, its grid supplying 29 million customers in the industrial heartland of Germany and being connected to 6 countries.
As Director Asset Management Gerald is responsible for long term system planning, including the Amprion contributions to the national and EU grid development plans, the asset management and operation of the grid assets and the telecommunication system.
In 2021, Gerald was elected Chair of the ENTSO-E System Development Committee (SDC) and he started his term on July 2021. Previously, he held various roles at ENTSO-E, such as Working Group Convenor and Vice Chair of the SDC.
In the past, Gerald has also worked with CIGRE and national associations. Gerald holds a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Aachen University of Technology (RWTH Aachen).
