Floating Lidar Product Lead, Fugro

Biography

Felix Kelberlau is the Floating Lidar Product Lead at Fugro. In this role, he is responsible for the design, testing, and implementation of improvements to the Stage-3 rated SEAWATCH Wind Lidar Buoy. Felix led the development and implementation of a motion-compensation algorithm that allows to estimate turbulence intensity as accurately as with a fixed lidar. He received his PhD from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology on the topic "Turbulence measurements with fixed and floating profiling wind lidar", his M. Sc. in Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency from Kassel University, and his B. Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. Felix is recently married and he and his wife are expecting their first child, whom they hope to raise trilingual.
