Steffen Dienst is a PhD student of Prof. Fähnrich at the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Leipzig. During and after his undergraduate studies he has worked on a variety of software projects in very different domains. Today, he works on creating and combining algorithms for automatic monitoring of SCADA data. In his thesis he strives to bridge the gap between academia and application by using machine learning techniques to answer the question “How can I assist renewable energy operators to monitor more power plants efficiently and effectively?”
