Grids are now the biggest bottleneck to cheaper, homegrown renewable electricity in Europe. In many countries grid bottlenecks hold back not just renewables but electrification, flexibility and market integration. And that keeps electricity prices high for businesses and households.
So, where exactly do the bottlenecks sit and what will it take to clear them?
Join us at the WindEurope Grids Workshop – in collaboration with ERG and Hitachi Energy – in Rome on 26 November. We are bringing together national authorities, TSOs, DSOs, renewable asset developers, technology suppliers, and the demand side to work through:
- Grid connection management, network charges and connection requirements
- Faster electrification of demand and sustainable integration of new loads such as data centres
- The real cost of poor implementation with examples from across Europe
- Solutions on the table, from quick wins to long-term planning
