When: Friday, 2 December 2022, 12:30 - 13:15
Where: Jan Van Eyck
Session description
N9ve.REE project is a project under co-promotion between N9ve - Nature, Ocean and Value, project leader, and the University of Aveiro, co-funded by CENTRO 2020, through European Regional Development Fund.
The aim of this project is to investigate and develop technologies and processes necessary for the removal, concentration and recovery of rare earth elements (REE) from contaminated waters, aqueous solutions and e-waste, including wind turbine magnets, using living macroalgae.
In this event, we will briefly present the main activities and results obtained, as well as its relevance and potential to the wind sector, in the moment that we are approaching the industrial phase of this technology.
Our ambition is to establish sustainable technological solutions, economically viable and integrated with relevant partners, ensuring the adequate recovery of decommissioned wind turbines magnets.
