Biography

Mr. Harwell works as a sustainability specialist at Vestas Wind Systems and is currently based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Originally from the United States, he studied Ecology, Evolution, & Organismal Biology and Environmental Sociology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, with international field studies in Denmark and New Zealand. Mr. Harwell has been awarded a Udall Scholarship, the highest recognition granted by the US Congress for exceptional contributions to the environment. His work focuses on sustainability in industrial sectors, with specialties in developing the circular economy, mitigating biodiversity impacts, and integrating sustainability into public policy.
