Biography

Mr. Dr. Alexander Burkhart studied business chemistry at the university of Duesseldorf and graduated with a diploma thesis in chemistry in 2011. After this he worked on his PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dr. H. Ritter at the institute for organic and macromolecular chemistry at the university of Duesseldorf which he finalized in 2015. The same year he started as a Trainee in the R&D at Continental tires in Hanover. In 2016 he took over responsibility as a project manager for the technology development of winter tires and was promoted Senior Material Developer focusing on sustainable materials in 2019. Beginning of 2022 he joined Evonik where he is leading a project as the corporate entrepreneur focusing on the recycling of fibre reinforced polymer composites from wind turbine blades with the goal to enable a circular economy for these materials.
