Overview
In this letter, investors, project developers, supplier, business association of the renewable sector, as well as environmental NGOs call the European Commission and EU Member States not to reopen the Renewable Energy Directive as part of the Post-2030 energy framework discussion. The Directive has already been reopened 4 times in the last 4 years and implementation is lacking. We need regulatory stability to accelerate renewables deployment that Europe’s need to meet our energy security, competitiveness and climate objectives. The future EU-binding RES target should be embedded in the Energy Governance Regulation.
