Join the Global Wind Organisation for their dedicated informative training session, taking place during the Health & Safety Programme in the exhibition. This session will give attendees an opportunity to learn about new standards and criteria, and to meet and network with the people behind GWO.

1. Introduction by Eloy Jauregui Martin, Health and Safety Director, Acciona Energia (Chair of Global Wind Organisation)Eloy will introduce today’s programme, outlining the key safety and technical training developments led by GWO member companies in 2019.
2. Basic Technical Training installation module launch by John Barrie, Senior Director Technical Safety & Training, Vestas

- Presentation of the new standard: Jakob Kristensen, SGRE Global Competency Manager
- The world’s largest turbine manufacturers have collaborated to bring to market their most ambitious training standard yet. The GWO Blade Repair standard achieves learning objectives in the safety and craftsmanship skills that are essential to this challenging, technical role. Delegates will receive a thorough explanation of the standard’s lessons, learning objectives and enabling objectives, supported by demonstration of exercises by members of the industry working group that created the standard.
- Blade Repair Training – Demonstration
A new installation module is being added to the Basic Technical Training Standard. As head of the GWO Training Committee, John Barrie will unveil the new module and explain the reasons for its creation. Delegates will gain understanding of the standard’s lessons, learning objectives and how the module differentiates compared to the remaining BTT modules. 3. Revision of the Basic Safety Training standard version 12 and the Basic Technical Training version 5 launch by John Barrie, Senior Director Technical Safety & Training, VestasSafety training standards require a structured revision process to ensure they reflect the hazards faced by wind turbine technicians today. John will unveil version 12 of the Basic Safety Training Standard, including the updated First Aid and Fire Awareness modules, as well as the updated Basic Technical Training Standard giving delegates an understanding of the key changes and next steps for implementing the revised standards. 4. Audit & Compliance: maintaining quality of a global training network by Sabas Herranz Rodrigo, HSE Manager, GE Renewable Energy & Chair of the GWO Audit & Compliance CommitteeRobust governance is essential for the maintenance of global standards. Sabas will explain a new Criteria for Certification Bodies that will enhance and maintain the quality of a global training network numbering almost 300 sites around the world. Delegates will understand how version 6 of the GWO Criteria for Certification Bodies ensures quality as the GWO worldwide training network grows 5.
