Session description
This session will look at innovative solutions for installation including towers that can be installed without the need for cranes, improved methods for designing gravity base foundations, and how new turbines can be holistically installed, designed and operated to reduce LCOE.
Learning objectives
- Understand how large towers can be installed without cranes;
- Discover how bearings and lubricants can be re-manufactured to increase the environmental credentials of wind turbines;
- Learn how and analysis of the economic and technical drivers can be used to reduce the LCOE for wind turbines;
- See how innovation can be used to improve the design of gravity based foundations.
