BiographyGlobal Head of Business Development and M&A, Carmelo Scalone leads a multinational team, whose core mission is to expand internationally the presence and the portfolio of Falck Renewables S.p.A.. Carmelo holds an Electrical Engineering Degree from La Sapienza University in Rome and also Business Degrees from IESE Business School in Barcelona and Scuola di Direzione Aziendale of Luigi Bocconi University in Milan. He is an Italian citizen, who lived and worked also in Sweden, France and Spain, where he’s currently based. Prior to joining Falck Renewables in 2017, he was at EDF Energies Nouvelles in Paris, where he was in charge of Business Development globally and a member of the Executive Committee. He has been working in the renewable industry since the year 2000. Between 2000 and 2007 he was CEO of Gamesa Energia Italia in Rome and eventually Executive VP for the whole Mediterranean Region at Gamesa. Between 2007 and 2013, he has been the Executive VP of Business Development at EDP Renewables in Madrid, with a global responsibility. He started his career at ABB (in Italy and Sweden), where he served 8 years in different roles and held, among others, the position of Chief Commercial Officer di ABB Energy Automation.
