He has acted as the Chief Executive Officer of Iberdrola Renovables since 2007.
He has a long track record at the Iberdrola Group: In 1992, he was appointed Project Manager at the Energy Unit of Iberdrola Diversificación, S.A. and Activities Manager of such Unit. 2002 saw the beginning of his professional career at Iberdrola Renovables, where he has held the positions of Business Development Manager for the Northern Region, Regional Manager and Manager of Renewable Energy.
His professional track record, all of it within the energy industry, began at Centro para el Ahorro y Desarrollo Energético y Minero (CADEM), in the industry area, where he worked from 1984 until 1988.
He later served at Ente Vasco de la Energía (an institution controlled by the Government of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country that fosters energy efficiency, diversification of sources of energy and promotion of renewable energy), to which he is still related as a member of its Management Committee, as well as at Proindesa (now Corporación IBV, Servicios y Tecnologías, S.A. Unipersonal, an industrial group owned by Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A. (BBVA) and Iberdrola, S.A.
