Biography
Unai Fernández Gámiz was born in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. He received his PhD degree in the doctoral program “Mechanics, Fluids and Aeronautics” UPC-Barcelona. Since 2008 he is working as a assoc. prof. in the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Fluid Mechanics at the University College of Engineering of Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain) University of the Basque Country, Spain. His research activities are focused in Renewable Energy sources, with main interest in applied Computational Fluids Dynamics methods. As a member of the Fluid Mechanics Department at UPV/EHU and leader of the Reseachr Group GREEN ENERGY TALDEA (www.ehu.es/get), my research is directly applicable to a vast range of industrial flows. My research interests span the areas of active and passive devices for flow control, computational fluid dynamics, turbulence theory, vortex dynamics and boundary layers.
