PhD Researcher, Univeristy of Bristol (ACCIS)

Biography

Imad Ouachan is a CDT PhD Researcher at the Bristol Composites Institute (ACCIS) at the University of Bristol. Imad’s project is working with the offshore renewable energy catapult aimed at furthering the understanding of wind-turbine blade erosion, induced by rain impact. The combination of high strain rate impacts and offshore conditions poses numerous challenges for the renewable wind energy sector. Prior to current studies, Imad was awarded a Master of Chemistry degree at the University of Surrey (2017) developing alkaline based fuel cells. As part of those studies he has also spent a year in industry working at L.B Foster Rail Technologies, Vancouver, developing new friction management solutions for the commercial rail industry.
