Senior Scientist, Vaisala
BiographyMark Stoelinga is a Senior Scientist within Vaisala’s Renewable Energy Group. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, USA, Mark received a B.S. in Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana, and a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Washington at Seattle. Mark became a recognized research expert in synoptic and mesoscale meteorology, numerical weather prediction, and climate impacts, while working as a research scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (1993-1995) and the University of Washington (1995-2009). Since then he has been at 3TIER and Vaisala (which acquired 3TIER in 2013), where he works on developing, improving, and testing advanced techniques for assessment and forecasting of renewable energy.
