wpd’s perspective on the past year 2020
We look back on the special year 2020 with mixed feelings. On the one hand, we were able to continue our international growth and build strongly in our Asian, European and American target markets. On the other hand, the Corona restrictions have naturally led to delays in processes, travel and supply chains and we had to protect ourselves, our employees and their families through many regulations and manners. Overall, however, we have been able to manage these particular challenges well.
About wpd
wpd is a developer and operator of onshore and offshore wind farms and solar parks with 2,680 employees worldwide, and is actively engaged in 25 countries. The head office is in Bremen/Germany. In the now 25 years since the company was founded in 1996, wpd has realized projects with 2,270 wind turbines and a total capacity of 4,720 MW. On an international scale, wpd is planning projects of around 11,300 MW onshore, 7,400 MW offshore and 1,150 MWp solar energy.
