Markus Lerch is an Energy Engineer and PhD candidate working at the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC). His research interest lies in the analysis and assessment of floating substructures for offshore wind turbines. He holds a B.Eng. Degree in Industrial Engineering and a M.Sc. Degree in Energy Engineering with specialization in Renewable Energies. He has also enjoyed studies abroad in the USA in engineering and economics. Previously, he worked as a project developer for power and industrial plants in Germany, Spain and Latin America.
