Mr. Misaki is a student in the doctor’s course of Graduate School of Maritime Sciences at Kobe University, Japan. His major field of study is meteorological engineering. Through his master’s thesis, he has investigated the accuracy of the WRF (the Weather Research and Forecasting model)-simulated horizontal gradient of offshore wind speed near a coastline using in-situ measurements and Envisat/ASAR images. Recently, he takes part in the national project for making offshore wind resource maps, which can be used for siting of offshore wind farms in the seas around Japan.
