Mareike Leimeister recently graduated from the European Wind Energy Master, receiving a double degree with distinction from TU Delft (Offshore Engineering and Dredging) and NTNU (Technology-Wind Energy). She wrote her Master’s thesis in cooperation with Fraunhofer IWES (Germany) about upscaling of a semi-submersible platform. Currently she is a research assistant at Fraunhofer IWES and continues the work on floating wind turbine models. Starting in October, she will study within the Engineering Doctorate Programme at the REMS research centre in Cranfield (UK). She will carry out her research work about reliability-based optimisation of floating wind turbine substructures.
