Ms. Kato is a master’s course student of the Graduate School of Maritime Sciences, Kobe University, Japan. Her research is in the area of marine meteorology, especially meteorological aspects of offshore wind energy development. She is currently engaged in the national project for making offshore wind resource maps in the seas around Japan. And she investigates offshore wind conditions in Japanese coastal waters using numerical simulation with the mesoscale model WRF.
