Katharina Fischer graduated in Electrical Engineering at Leibniz Universitaet Hannover, Germany, in 2002 and received the Ph.D. degree from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the same university in 2008. During the following years, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, until she joined the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology (IWES) in Hanover, Germany, as a Senior Scientist in 2012. Her research interests include the reliability, condition monitoring and maintenance of wind turbines, with a particular focus on the power converter.
