Session description
This session will look at the latest developments in the area of bottom-fixed foundations: new concepts for offshore support structures for larger turbines, novel types of connections between towers and foundations, suction buckets and methods to optimise design.
Learning objectives
- Understand the latest developments in support-structure design for offshore wind turbines; - Hear updates of recent trials of new technologies, including suction bucket foundations and slip joints; - Understand options to monitor fatigue lifetimes of installed wind turbine support structures
