Biography

Thijs holds a MSc in offhore engineering at the TU Delft. He has a broad range of lecture and research interests with a strong focus on offshore wind support structures. He is a teacher and researcher at DOB-Academy, responsible for tailor-made courses and Japanese business development with a strong focus on creating sustainable knowledge solutions to the young and rapidly developing Japanese offshore wind market. At DOT, he is working as a project engineer and slip joint expert. In this role he was responsible for the research in the "Slip Joint Offshore Research" project, in which a full scale slip joint connection was successfully installed and tested in the offshore environment.
