Teacher toolkit for primary school


The WindEurope Teacher Toolkit for Primary Schools is an educational resource designed to help primary school teachers introduce students to the fundamentals of wind energy. The toolkit includes a variety of materials—such as lesson plans, interactive activities, and supplementary educational resources—all aimed at making learning about wind power engaging and accessible for young learners.

It is intended for educators who wish to incorporate renewable energy topics into their teaching, providing them with the tools needed to effectively communicate both the environmental importance and the mechanics of wind energy in a fun and educational way. The toolkit is structured to cover topics across multiple disciplines.

Teacher toolkit for secondary school


This toolkit connects the subjects of science and technology, mathematics, history, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, and engineering with wind energy topics. It is designed to suit any school and any teacher who wishes to educate their students about wind energy. The teaching methods central to this curriculum include technological literacy, practical expertise, engineering, and innovation. While the curriculum can be implemented in a traditional classroom setting, the use of a Makerspace is recommended.

Inspiring stories from people working in clean energy


To help save the world, you don’t have to be a super hero. Simply by deciding to do certain jobs, we can all help look after our planet, our environment and our future generations. This is a book about 21 people who are working in clean energy; what they all have in common is that they are passionate about their job, and work on tackling the climate crisis. Meet Vanessa who ensures our 'Teams' calls are as green as possible, Swarna who studies the wind to put her turbines in the best locations; Nicolas who flies drones to check for cracks in the blades; and Jos who builds playgrounds from old wind turbines. There are people from all continents who will tell you about their clean energy jobs, what subjects they studied and the skills they needed to be able to do what they do now.

STEM Education For the Green Transition 2024-2025

This project brings together schools, industry, education NGOs, and policymakers to strengthen climate and STEM education with a focus on wind energy. Through hands-on learning, students explore how renewable electricity is generated, why it matters, and the career opportunities that come with it.

Cross-sectoral cooperation is at the heart of this initiative. Strengthening the curriculum with real-world examples goes beyond a single teacher’s efforts—it means working with industry to connect learning to new trends, new technologies, and students’ everyday lives.

Implemented in 1 school and 3 school networks in Denmark, in 4 schools in Poland, and 3 schools in Ireland, together with wind energy national associations, Green Power Denmark (GPD), PWEA and Wind Energy Ireland respectively. The project shows how different contexts can shape wind energy education. Approaches range from integrating wind topics to interdisciplinary subjects to industry partnerships that offer students real-world exposure, including field visits to energy facilities and direct interactions with professionals.
