European Investment Bank (EIB) offering financial advisory support and funding opportunities
The European Investment Bank (EIB) advisory and lending teams will be present onsite in Bilbao with a dedicated EIB Business Lounge located in Hall 3. The EIB have a mandate to support the scaling up of the wind supply chain and wind projects, and are eager to meet companies interested in discussing financing opportunities and advisory support.
The EU’s Wind Power Package published last October set out 15 immediate actions to strengthen the competitiveness of Europe’s wind value chain. Notably improving access to finance and providing de-risking tools and guarantees through the EIB.
The European Investment Bank’s Board of Directors already announced a €5bn counter-guarantee scheme for wind energy manufacturing that will improve access to finance for wind equipment manufacturing capacity. The EIB expect the counter-guarantee scheme to support up to €80 billion in new wind energy investment.
Now the EIB is seeking well-scoped projects with initial financing strategies that they can help develop further. These projects should have preliminary documentation available, such as draft business plans and financial models, on which they can base their advisory support. The financing plans don’t need to be fully finalised as the EIB offers expertise in developing financing roadmaps as part of their advisory support.
